  • All four phones launched by iQOO India this year will get the beta update in December.
  • The Android 12 beta update will release for 2020’s iQOO 3 in March next year.

After Vivo’s announcement of the Android 12 beta rollout schedule yesterday, iQOO also has also announced the timeline of Android 12 beta release for its smartphones. The company has confirmed that it would be rolling out the Android 12 beta update for four of its smartphones by the end of this year. The iQOO 3 which was launched last year and still runs on iQOO UI based on Android 10 will start to receive the update by March next year.

iQOO Android 12 beta rollout timeline

iQOO 7 – December 2021

iQOO 7 Legend – December 2021

iQOO Z5 – December 2021

iQOO Z3 – December 2021

iQOO 3 – March 2022

As per the timeline provided by the company, the iQOO 7, iQOO 7 Legend, iQOO Z3, and iQOO Z5 will start to get the update from the end of December. The iQOO 3, on the other hand, will receive the new Android version in its beta stage by March-end in 2022.

The update will be released in batches, so many users may have to wait for some more time for their devices to get the taste of Android 12 beta. The stable update for all of these devices should also follow soon after the beta one. iQOO has not stated the new features of the update, but we expect all the core Android 12 features to come alongside a few custom changes.

Android 12 features include the new Material You design language with big bubbly buttons, shifting colours, and smoother animations, along with privacy and security improvements. Apart from these, you can look forward to stacked notifications and new media widget too. Additionally, Android 12 is claimed to be more responsive and faster, while also managing better power efficiency. Google is calling it the biggest design change in Android’s history.

iQOO made a strong comeback into the Indian market earlier this year, after last year’s single launch with the launch of the iQOO 7 series. The company then launched its new Z series phones at different points to offer users better options. The brand tried to offer premium features at an affordable price point, a strategy that a lot of brands have tried to woo customers.
